Overview

En este trabajo se analizan en el contexto del desarrollo de la pólis, las circunstancias vitales, la figura de Solón, su tarea como gobernante y sus ideas políticas, que en muchas ocasiones fueron llevadas a la práctica en Atenas, las consecuencias que provocó su actividad como legislador en su tiempo y la fama que alcanzó su persona y su obra en la posteridad. El propósito principal es mostrar un estado de la cuestión amplio, con las principales aportaciones de la investigación más reciente y, en lo posible, presentar y algunas respuestas a los problemas que siguen existiendo en la actualidad, con relación a las ideas y a sus actividades como personaje público y responsable del gobierno de Atenas.
